California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)


  • Advised numerous clients regarding the requirements of CCPA and how to operationalize the new law.
  • Drafted numerous website and employee CCPA-compliant privacy policies.
  • Advised and counselled clients in making public comments to the California AG’s proposed CCPA Rules.
  • Advised and counselled clients negotiating amendments to the CCPA and the CPRA



  • Successfully moved to dismiss a putative class action alleging that an industrial construction equipment rental company misrepresented the nature of certain fees it attaches to rental agreements.
  • Representing a beauty retailer in multiple state and federal court putative consumer class actions relating to the alleged practice of misrepresenting the characteristics of products for sale.
  • Represented a multinational corporation that designs and manufactures electronic products in a nationwide class action matter alleging that the corporation’s use of the term “LED TVs” was misleading and violated consumer protection laws.  We obtained dismissal of the action from the Court in a published opinion before class certification.



  • Marion et al. v. Becton et al.: Defending McKesson in class action antitrust complaint alleging a conspiracy to restrain competition and artificially inflate prices of BD syringes and catheters.  In November 2018, the district court in the Southern District of Illinois granted our motion to dismiss, and the firm is defending the judgment on appeal in the Seventh Circuit.
  • Representing Mondelēz International in a putative class action pending in the US District Court for the Southern District of California alleging that Mondelēz’s belVita Bites snacks are deceptively labelled as “nutritious” and providing “four hours of steady energy” because the products are allegedly not “nutritious” because they contain added sugar.
  • We represent Move, Inc., which operates, in a putative class action by real estate agents for breach of contract and unfair business practices. 



  • Represented a global human capital management services company in multiple putative class actions in Illinois and New Jersey asserting BIPA and common law claims.
  • Represented a global amusement park company in a putative class action in Illinois arising under BIPA.
  • Achieved the only two successful motion to dismiss wins, to the best of our knowledge, in BIPA litigation.
