Development and Construction

  • Representation of the developer of Midtown Crossing, an approximately 1 million square foot mixed use multi-family, hotel and retail development located in the Midtown area of Omaha, Nebraska.  We drafted and negotiated the design, development and construction agreements for this project.
  • Representation of the developer of 215 West Washington, a mixed use apartment and retail development in the West Loop area of Chicago.  We were involved in the preparation and negotiation of the joint venture documents and construction and design documents for the project.
  • Representation of the developer in certain joint ventures that are developing mixed use projects that include residential, retail, hotel and garage components in the Chicago Loop and the Wrigleyville neighborhood of Chicago.  We represented the developer in connection with joint venture and development documents for the projects.
  • Representation of a Fortune 100 company in connection with the preparation and negotiation of construction and design contracts for the company’s office and light industrial facility projects throughout the United States.
  • Representation of a major corporate pension plan in connection with joint ventures to develop numerous large multi-family and condominium projects located in Chicago and its suburbs.
  • Representation of Rally Capital Services, LLC as Receiver in completion of construction of high-rise condominium projects.  We assisted  in negotiations with subcontractors, final architectural review and obtaining City of Chicago Certificates of Occupancy, and facilitated a program for the sale of the units by the Receiver.
  • Representation of the developer of Citadel Center, a 1.5 million square foot mixed use office and retail building in downtown Chicago, in which we were involved with the construction contract, architect’s agreement, financing and leasing of the project.
  • Representation of the developer of Compuware’s corporate world headquarters building in downtown Detroit, in which we drafted and negotiated the development agreement, construction contract and architect’s agreement.
  • Representation of the Chicago Park District in connection with the renovation of Soldier Field in Chicago.
  • Representation of Millennium Park, Inc., the not-for-profit foundation providing development funding for the City of Chicago’s Millennium Park project.
  • Representation of Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago in connection with the design, construction and development documents for a planned 80,000 square foot multi-use addition to Fourth Presbyterian Church’s property on Michigan Avenue in Chicago.
