We have one of the largest practices in the country for the representation of national associations of and certification bodies for health care professionals and providers.  We also represent many voluntary and charitable health organizations.

We understand the critical role that health care associations and their related certification and accreditation bodies play in advancing the quality of health care in this country.  Our attorneys also understand the many issues, both legal and nonlegal, that converge to create successful associations and credentialing programs.  We pride ourselves in helping our clients understand those issues and to make sound professional and business decisions.   • Drafting and negotiating contracts with vendors for a variety of products and services, corporate sponsors, and affinity partners.

  • Formation of not-for-profit affiliates and for-profit subsidiaries.
  • Creation of license agreements for national and international distribution of products, traditional and online media, and use of trademarks.
  • Applying for and maintaining federal trademark, service mark, collective membership mark and certification mark registrations in the United States and worldwide.
  • Drafting and negotiating web development, linkage and other technology-related agreements.
  • Drafting and interpreting standard-setting policies and procedures.
  • Establishing certification and accreditation boards, including appeals and disciplinary procedures.
  • Developing fair procedures for the processing of applications for certification and the administration of courses and exams, including compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act issues.
  • Developing privacy, confidentiality, and other record-keeping policies with respect to the creation of computerized outcomes databases and the organization of clinical trials.
