Companies competing for government contracts are frequently involved in bid protests. These are administrative or judicial proceedings brought either by competitors who challenge the ground rules under which procurements are being conducted (pre-award protests) or by disappointed bidders who contest the procuring agencies’ contract award decisions (post-award protests). Our lawyers also regularly represent the winning contractors, who ask us to intervene in the protest and to assist the procuring agencies in defending their contract award decisions. In these circumstances, we use the bid protest as an opportunity to help the client build and maintain a good relationship with its government customer.
