Elizabeth A. Edmondson is a commercial litigator focusing on domestic and international arbitrations concerning complex contractual disputes.
Ms. Edmondson has represented clients at every stage of litigation, including in eleven trials and arbitration hearings. Ms. Edmondson’s practice focuses on counseling clients in complex contractual disputes, particularly in the aerospace, energy and manufacturing sectors. She also has meaningful experience litigating claims involving intellectual property and financial products. She was a member of the trial team that won a record-breaking $431 million FINRA arbitration award for STMicroelectronics N.V. and then helped defend that award before the Second Circuit.
Ms. Edmondson’s pro bono work focuses on vindicating the civil rights of individuals in the criminal justice system. She has obtained substantial settlements for a man whose brain tumor went untreated in prison and for a man repeatedly arrested on an invalid warrant. In addition, she has successfully represented multiple refugees in removal proceedings. Ms. Edmondson has served on the Board of the New York Chapter of the Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in Law and the Committee for Corrections and Community Reentry of the New York City Bar Association. She is a member of the Arbitration and Energy Committees of CPR (the International Institute for Conflict Prevention), as well as Arbitral Women.
Ms. Edmondson has repeatedly been recommended for International Arbitration in Legal 500 USA, where she was described as “highly rated” and praised for her skill at oral argument and cross-examination, and was selected for LawDragon’s Global Litigation 500. She was previously selected as a Rising Star in 2016 by the New York Law Journal.
