A few of Mr. Barron’s significant accomplishments in patent cases include:

  • Obtaining a complete defense verdict for the world’s leading contact lens manufacturer in a major patent infringement jury trial involving the company’s best-selling product.  The trial judge had earlier granted judgment of no willful infringement as a matter of law.  The verdict was recently affirmed on appeal.
  • Prevailing in a US Patent Office Inter Partes Review on behalf of a client in the transportation industry.  The US Patent Office invalidated the patent, which had been asserted against the client in District Court litigation.
  • Obtaining the dismissal with prejudice of a patent infringement suit brought against a manufacturer of fibrin sealant patches.  The plaintiffs, the owners of the two patents and its exclusive licensee, dismissed the suit with prejudice before trial.
  • Receiving a decision completely exonerating a manufacturer of endoscopic surgical instruments in an arbitration brought by an inventor.
  • Obtaining both the reversal of a district court finding of infringement and the entry of judgment in favor of his client, a leading manufacturer of intraocular lenses.
  • Representing a leading manufacturer of high-volume food processing machinery in multi-case patent litigation, leading to a favorable settlement.
  • Obtaining a jury verdict of infringement against a competitor on behalf of the company that introduced the gelcap form of medication in the United States.
  • Representing a market leader in the defense of a patent infringement suit relating to intravenous catheters, resulting in a favorable settlement without trial.
