Stephen R. Brown has experience in complex civil litigation, internal investigations, and anti-trust litigation. He concentrates his practice on litigating matters arising out of complex financial transactions. Most recently, Mr. Brown represented a client asserting its rights under a multi-party contract related to commercial mortgage-backed securities, and is defending a mortgage originator against breach of contract claims related to residential mortgage-backed securities.
As a practicing lawyer, Mr. Brown has written several articles, including four published in law journals, on the subjects of jurisdiction and procedure in federal courts. His articles have been cited numerous times in articles and treatises, including Wright & Miller’s Federal Practice and Procedure, as well as by the Iowa Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Prior to joining Jenner & Block, Mr. Brown was a law clerk for the Honorable James S. Gwin of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
