Sharon Karuna Moraes is an associate in the firm’s Corporate Department. Ms. Moraes represents public and privately held companies in connection with financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions and a variety of other general corporate matters.
Ms. Moraes represents companies in the context of both secured and unsecured financing transactions. Beyond finance, Ms. Moraes assists companies across an array of industries in mergers and acquisitions transactions with varying structure. She also maintains an active pro bono practice, working on a wide range of matters including contributing to free legal aid networks and advising non-profit corporations seeking to secure lines of credit.
Ms. Moraes received her B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science in 2014 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she graduated with honors. She received her J.D. in 2017 from the University of Chicago Law School. While in law school, Ms. Moraes worked with the International Human Rights Clinic.
Ms. Moraes currently serves on the firm’s Corporate Department Social Committee, and is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and Women’s Bar Association of Illinois. She is admitted to practice in the state of Illinois.
