Sarah E. Haddy is a partner in the firm’s Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice.
Ms. Haddy counsels employers of all sizes on a variety of ERISA and employee benefit matters. From beginning to end—design and restructuring, administration and compliance, and amendment and termination—she advises on qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans and other employee benefit and compensation arrangements.
Ms. Haddy has significant experience with the day-to-day issues employers face in administering employee benefit plans. She regularly counsels clients on plan disputes, including employee claims, record-keeper disputes and benefit litigation. She also represents clients on DOL and IRS audits and compliance filings, IRS Affordable Care Act assessments and other governmental matters.
Employers turn to Ms. Haddy for advice on healthcare reform, COBRA, HIPAA and related obligations. Regarding qualified plans, she counsels on regular changes in the laws governing defined benefit and defined contribution plans. She has drafted and helped design numerous health and welfare plans, wellness programs and retiree VEBAs, as well as varying kinds of 401(k) and pension benefit plans.
