Ramon Villalpando is an associate in the Complex Commercial Litigation group. He represents clients in complex and high-stakes matters in a variety of industries.
Mr. Villalpando has represented clients in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate level. Mr. Villalpando is experienced in a variety of areas, including business tort, antitrust, professional responsibility, financial services, and defamation litigation. He also has experience in white-collar defense and in responding to government inquiries.
Mr. Villalpando has a robust pro bono practice. He has successfully represented indigent clients in both civil and criminal cases. For example, he obtained an acquittal for a client wrongfully charged with attempted murder. Mr. Villalpando has also obtained redress for clients who have been denied constitutionally adequate medical care.
In addition to his law practice, Mr. Villalpando is also active in the community. He is a member of the board of trustees of High Jump, a program that promotes equal access to education for students of limited means. Mr. Villalpando is also an active supporter of the American Bar Association’s Judicial Internship Opportunity Program.
Prior to joining Jenner & Block, Mr. Villalpando served as a law clerk to the Honorable Rubén Castillo of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Honorable Carl E. Stewart of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Before law school, Mr. Villalpando served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala. During his service, he worked as a small business development volunteer with a microcredit organization.
