Paaras J. Modi is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department, focusing on patent litigation.

Mr. Modi received his JD from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 2021. Mr. Modi was a student attorney in the First Amendment Clinic, where he wrote portions of an amicus brief to the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals in support of the successful constitutional challenge to a state’s “Ag-Gag” law. Mr. Modi was also a consultant with the student-led, non-profit Biotechnology and Life Sciences Advising (BALSA) Group, where he provided consulting services to academic researchers seeking to spin-out university technologies.

Prior to law school, Mr. Modi received his BS in biomedical engineering and MS in materials science and engineering from Northwestern University in 2014. Mr. Modi subsequently worked towards commercializing academic research at Northwestern’s Innovation and New Ventures Office, and also worked as an independent stock research analyst.

In addition to his legal work, Mr. Modi produced a documentary advocating for farmed animals which was an official selection at an international film festival.
