Nathaniel Wackman is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department. He represents corporations in civil litigation around the country, with particular experience in antitrust matters. He also represents criminal defendants and companies facing government investigations.
Mr. Wackman practices in both trial and appeals courts. His trial practice includes serving as first-chair for an evidentiary hearing in the Cook County Circuit Court. He has been the lead author on dispositive motion briefing in state and federal trial courts and has argued a motion to dismiss in the Cook County Circuit Court. His appellate practice includes briefing and arguing an appeal in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Mr. Wackman has been the primary drafter of briefs in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and the Illinois Appellate Court. Mr. Wackman has also represented clients before the United States and Illinois Supreme Courts.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Wackman served as a law clerk to the Honorable Edith H. Jones of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Mr. Wackman received his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2015, graduating summa cum laude and Order of the Coif. He served as an articles editor of the University of Illinois Law Review. Before law school, Mr. Wackman worked as a police officer and investigator in Houston, Texas.
