Lina Ragep Powell is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department. Ms. Powell focuses on complex commercial litigation and maintains an active pro bono practice.
Ms. Powell received her B.A. and M.A. in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to law school, Ms. Powell was a Fulbright Fellow in Damascus, Syria, where she worked at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and studied Syrian Law and History. Ms. Powell graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2012, where she participated in the Wisconsin Innocence Project, and was an active member of the Moot Court Board and the Wisconsin International Law Journal. Following law school, Ms. Powell worked at a non-profit civil liberties organization in Virginia, and has spent the past three years working as a federal judicial clerk in both Pennsylvania and Illinois.
Ms. Powell is a member of the Arab American Bar Association of Illinois, the Seventh Circuit Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, and the Chicago Bar Association’s Symphony Orchestra.
