Laura E. Pelanek is experienced in litigating complex civil cases, as well as performing internal investigations, and counseling clients on electronic discovery issues.
Ms. Pelanek served as an integral part of the Jenner & Block team in some of the firm’s most high-profile matters, including representation of the examiner in the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy and the ignition switch recall investigation and litigation for General Motors. She counsels clients on issues relating to electronic discovery and general law and technology issues. She effectively advises clients on a wide spectrum of issues such as implementing legal holds, laying the groundwork for defensible preservation, facilitating collection, working with vendors for cost-efficiencies in hosting, processing and review, setting up review projects, 26(f) conferences and drafting arguments in support of discovery-related motions. Ms. Pelanek is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department.
Ms. Pelanek is a member of the Illinois Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
