Laura C. Bishop is an associate in the Litigation Department. She has experience in complex commercial litigation, professional responsibility matters, and investigations.

Ms. Bishop has worked on a broad range of matters, including consumer class action litigation, professional responsibility litigation, commercial arbitration, white collar investigations, and general complex civil litigation.  Ms. Bishop also has an active pro bono practice representing clients in the fields of environmental protection and domestic violence, and serves as the President of the Young Professionals Board of the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic.  She is a co-author of the chapter in ICLE’s guide to Illinois Civil Appeals on oral argument in both state and federal court. Ms. Bishop is a member of the firm’s Hiring Committee.

Ms. Bishop received her J.D., cum laude, in 2012 from Harvard Law School, where she was managing editor for the Harvard Environmental Law Review.  During law school, Ms. Bishop interned at the US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois. Prior to law school, Ms. Bishop was employed as the chief research assistant to the Honorable Richard A. Posner and Professor William M. Landes at The University of Chicago Law School, where she worked on multiple publications, including the 2009 book A Failure of Capitalism.

Ms. Bishop is admitted to practice in Illinois and is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
