Ms. Hutchison's representative matters include:

  • Obtaining summary judgment in favor of a pentacholorophenol manufacturer in cases involving personal injury and property damage claims and working extensively with experts to counter allegations of harm from dioxin and PAHs;
  • Defeating class certification in a proposed fifty-state class action that alleged the labeling of snack food products violated California's Consumer Legal Remedies Act, Unfair Competition Law, and False Advertising Law;
  • Winning dismissal of claims by dozens of individuals residing near a wood treatment plant, following a precedent-setting ruling from the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals on novel issues under the Class Action Fairness Act;
  • Representing a successor corporation in a personal injury and property damage class action involving alleged Trichloroethylene, perchloroethylene, and vinyl chloride contamination in the area around a former capacitor manufacturing operation; and
  • Seeking insurance coverage for environmental liabilities and successfully arbitrating coverage claims on behalf of policyholders.
