Jason Yardley is co-chair of the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation practice.  Based in London, he is a leading lawyer with 25 years of international litigation and arbitration experience handling complex commercial disputes.

Mr. Yardley represents clients including hedge funds, privately-owned groups and family offices, companies in the oil, gas, energy and telecommunications sectors, amongst others, and sovereign states.  His practice encompasses claims relating to joint ventures and shareholder disputes, financing arrangements (including derivatives), contentious insolvency and restructuring, fraud, breaches of trust and fiduciary duty, and the multi-jurisdictional enforcement of unpaid judgments and awards.

Mr. Yardley has represented clients before all divisions of the English High Court, the Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court and the Privy Council.  He has also litigated large-scale disputes in Europe, North America, Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and many offshore jurisdictions and has appeared before numerous institutional and ad hoc arbitration tribunals.

The Legal 500 UK and Chambers UK have recognized Mr. Yardley for his dispute-resolution practice, describing him as “without doubt one of the best,” a “tough litigator who is tenacious in his pursuit of opponents” and “an extremely clever and creative lawyer.”  The Legal 500 UK named him a “leading individual” for Commercial Litigation in 2019 and 2020, with clients noting he “provides excellent strategic thinking and excellent knowledge of the detail” and “is a standout individual, who is extremely clever, hands on and creative.”

Before joining the firm in 2017, Mr. Yardley practiced for almost 17 years at White & Case in London.
