Irene Ten Cate is an associate in the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation Group.

Ms. Ten Cate represents business organizations and individuals at all stages of litigation in federal and state courts and in domestic and international arbitrations.  Her practice covers a broad range of subject areas, including securities class action litigation, corporate governance and shareholder disputes, breach of contract claims, and copyright infringement claims.  Her pro bono work focuses on representing refugees, including in the federal Courts of Appeals.

Before joining Jenner & Block, Ms. Ten Cate taught Civil Procedure, Business Associations, and a litigation workshop at Marquette University Law School, and legal writing at Columbia Law School.  Her scholarship has been published in the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law, the N.Y.U. Journal of International Law & Politics, and the Yale Journal of Law & the Humanities.  Ms. Ten Cate has also worked as a litigation and international arbitration associate in the New York office of a large international firm, and interned with the Court of International Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris.

Ms. Ten Cate is a member of the American Society of International Law, and she presents regularly at international and comparative law conferences.  She is a native Dutch speaker.
