Mr. Fitzsimmons is an associate in the firm’s litigation department.
Mr. Fitzsimmons has litigation experience in a variety of legal areas, including private equity disputes, arbitration, patent litigation, antitrust matters, bankruptcy, and criminal investigations.
Mr. Fitzsimmons also has an active pro bono practice. He focuses on representing clients who have experienced gender-based violence or discrimination, including victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child marriage, mutilation, harassment, stalking, and LGBTQ-related persecution. Mr. Fitzsimmons has also represented victims of human trafficking in civil litigation against their traffickers, securing favorable outcomes in each case. One of those matters was included in the firm’s 2019 Heart of the Matter, and for which Mr. Fitzsimmons received the “Pro Bono Superstar” award from the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation.
Mr. Fitzsimmons is a 2016 graduate of Northwestern Pritzker University School of Law, where he was a member of the Bartlit National Trial Team, a note and comment editor on the Journal of International Law and Business, and a teacher’s assistant for the school’s first-year writing course. Mr. Fitzsimmons is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association.
