Emily A. Merrifield is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department.

Ms. Merrifield received her JD, cum laude, from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in 2020. While in law school, she served as the Symposium Editor for the Northwestern University Law Review and competed on Northwestern’s National Moot Court Team. Ms. Merrifield was also a student attorney in the Death Penalty and Center on Wrongful Convictions Clinics.

Ms. Merrifield graduated from Boston College in 2011, summa cum laude, with a major in International Studies and a minor in East Asian Studies. Prior to law school, Ms. Merrifield served as a Fulbright Fellow in Taiwan, teaching English to elementary school children, and an AmeriCorps volunteer in Juneau, Alaska, where she coordinated mental health services for children in foster care.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Merrifield served as a Public Interest Law Initiative Fellow with Northwestern’s Center on Wrongful Convictions.
