Donald S. Horvath has an extensive real estate practice which includes representing real estate owners, developers and lenders. Don represents owners, developers, contractors and design professionals on all facets of real estate development and construction projects. Owners and developers also turn to him for help with real property acquisition, disposition and leasing transactions and commercial mortgage and construction loan transactions and sale leaseback transactions. He also represents real estate lenders in negotiating and documenting sophisticated construction, permanent and mezzanine loan transactions and loan purchase and sale transactions.
Mr. Horvath is AV Peer Review Rated, Martindale-Hubbell’s highest peer recognition for ethical standards and legal ability. Recognized as an Illinois Super Lawyer, he provides ongoing representation to a Fortune 500 company on the acquisition, disposition, leasing and construction of its offices, research and development and other facilities nationwide. He regularly advises owners and joint ventures in all aspects of the development of residential condominium and apartment projects and mixed use developments that include residential, hotel and retail components. He also has represented lenders and borrowers in complex loan transactions including loan syndication, participation and restructuring transactions.
A member of the Firm’s Real Estate and Construction Law Practices, Mr. Horvath also serves on the Real Estate Finance Litigation and Workout Task Force. He has addressed the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education, the Practising Law Institute and Lorman Educational Services on topics related to his practice area. He is a member of the Firm's Associate Development and Evaluation Committee as well as the Finance and Opinion Letter Committees.
