He is a member of the Auditor Letter Review Committee and serves as Firm Counsel to Jenner & Block. Mr. Jiménez-Ekman has more than 15 years of experience representing more than a dozen law firm defendants in all aspects of high-stakes professional liability litigation. Mr. Jiménez-Ekman's clients have included international and national law firms and their individual lawyers. The underlying matters have ranged the gamut from failed mergers to alleged Ponzi schemes, from opinion letters on leasing transactions to allegations of litigation negligence. Mr. Jiménez-Ekman has successfully obtained dismissal in several professional responsibility matters and prosecuted two appeals on behalf of clients in legal malpractice cases. He has successfully resolved numerous professional liability cases in mediation, both before and after suit. From 1993 to 2006, Mr. Jiménez-Ekman was appointed a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois, obtaining summary judgment or dismissal for the state in numerous cases.
Mr. Jiménez-Ekman routinely represents both paying and pro bono clients in defense of criminal charges or investigations, and has tried numerous jury and bench trials and hearings to verdict.
