Christina A. Aryafar is an associate in the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation practice and has extensive experience litigating business disputes, consumer class actions, and trade secret matters. She has successfully defended clients in the food, beverage, music, health care, media, and manufacturing industries against a wide range of claims. Ms. Aryafar also has significant experience advising and assisting clients in conducting internal investigations and responding to government inquiries.
Ms. Aryafar has been a key member of the defense team in dozens of consumer class action lawsuits in California, Florida, Illinois, and New York federal courts, regularly achieving dismissals at the pleading stage and denials of class certification. Ms. Aryafar also has experience litigating cases at trial, and has handled appellate matters before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the California Court of Appeal.
Ms. Aryafar is a contributing editor to Jenner & Block’s Consumer Law Round-Up blog. She also serves on the firm’s Pro Bono Committee and on the Leadership Council for the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice. In 2018, Southern California Super Lawyers recognized her as a “Rising Star” in Class Action/Mass Torts and Business Litigation.
Ms. Aryafar maintains an active pro bono practice. She has successfully represented pro bono clients in First Amendment and civil rights cases and in immigration matters. Most recently, Ms. Aryafar led a trial team that secured a significant jury verdict on behalf of an inmate for violations of his Eighth Amendment rights.
