Carol Rubin is Jenner & Block’s chief operating officer, providing strategic direction, financial planning and analysis, and operations management for all firm offices. She has nearly 30 years of leadership experience in corporations, government and nonprofits. Ms. Rubin has a track record of success in leading organizations from strategy through execution and for strengthening the administrative side of organizations to help them better achieve their mission.
Before joining Jenner & Block, she served in several roles at the University of Chicago. She was a senior advisor to the provost and, most recently, the chief operating officer of the university’s Laboratory Schools. In that role, she managed professionals across multiple units including finance, IT, human resources, security, facilities, programs and the registrar.
Previously, Ms. Rubin served in a variety of executive roles including head of corporate strategy for Exelon Corporation, as chief administrative officer for the Chicago Transit Authority, the nation’s second largest public transit system, and as the chief administrative officer for the Chicago Park District, the largest city park system in the United States.
She holds a Master of Public Policy degree from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, where she was a Kennedy Fellow. Ms. Rubin earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History and French Literature, Phi Beta Kappa, from Colgate University.
