Carla J. Baumel is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department. Ms. Baumel’s practice focuses on intellectual property.
Ms. Baumel obtained her BS in biology and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2010, where she studied as an Academic Excellence Scholar and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She received her JD, magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School, with an emphasis on Intellectual Property and Technology Law. While in law school, Ms. Baumel worked as a student attorney for the Criminal Justice Clinic, where she provided legal assistance to both city attorneys and public defenders in the prosecution and defense of misdemeanor offenses. Ms. Baumel was the symposium editor for the Minnesota Law Review and president of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association at the University of Minnesota.
Prior to joining Jenner & Block, Ms. Baumel served as a law clerk to the Honorable J.P. Stadtmueller of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. She is a registered patent attorney.
