Brienne M. Letourneau is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department and a member of the Complex Commercial Litigation, Class Action, and ERISA Litigation practice groups. She has significant experience litigating in a number of substantive areas, including class action defense, ERISA, higher education, consumer law, insurance coverage disputes, professional malpractice, contract disputes, and business torts.
Ms. Letourneau has broad experience representing clients as plaintiffs and defendants in every phase of complex commercial litigation. She has represented clients before state and federal courts and arbitral tribunals throughout the country, and also has experience representing clients in alternative dispute resolution. Ms. Letourneau has won a number of dispositive motions in a variety of cases, including dismissal with prejudice of several putative consumer and ERISA class actions and summary judgment in multiple insurance coverage matters. She also maintains an active pro bono practice representing clients in civil rights actions.
Ms. Letourneau previously served as Co-Chair of the firm’s Associates Committee, and is a member of the Chicago Bar Association. She has been recognized by Illinois Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in business litigation each year since 2014.
Ms. Letourneau graduated from Harvard Law School in 2010, where she served as a student attorney with the Title IX Clinic. Prior to attending Harvard Law School, she obtained her B.A. with Highest Honors and Highest Distinction from the University of North Carolina.
