Angela Allen is a bankruptcy lawyer and litigator who focuses her practice on complex financial litigation, corporate restructuring and investigations.
Angela focuses on all aspects of financial distress, from protecting against counterparty risk to litigating in court. She helps corporate clients navigate issues related to financial distress and counterparty risk and guides trustees in investigations and litigation arising out of fraudulent enterprises. Angela has recovered millions of dollars in settlements and wins in bankruptcy-related litigation.
Angela’s clients range from manufacturers dealing with distressed suppliers, to landlords and tenants negotiating distressed leases, to opportunistic purchasers of assets in 363 sales. In addition, she has experience addressing restructuring and liquidation issues arising in the financial services sector.
In addition to her bankruptcy practice, Angela is active in both the community and the bar. She maintains an active pro bono practice and is a frequent speaker on a variety of restructuring, distressed and industry topics. Angela is active in the Turnaround Management Association and served as the President of the Chicago/Midwest Chapter in 2020. Angela also serves as Co-Chair of the Firm’s In-House Opportunities Committee and as a member of the Hiring Committee.

The team’s work includes leading complex restructuring negotiations and exploring strategic alternatives for the nationwide pharmacy services provider.
- In re Firestar Diamond Inc. Current representation of chapter 11 trustee, Richard Levin, in bankruptcy cases of U.S. subsidiaries of a diamond empire involved in $1 billion Indian bank fraud.
