With extensive experience in financial services-related litigation and government investigations, Ali Arain represents clients in their most demanding matters. A seasoned litigator, Ali often represents companies in cases involving high-stakes business disputes, securities and other financial fraud, commercial contracts and complex financial products like mortgage-backed securities, collateralized debt obligations, and credit default swaps.
Ali also represents companies and individuals in significant government and internal investigations, including investigations brought by the Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, and state attorneys general. He maintains a key role in the firm’s monitorship practice and has served in a leadership role on multiple monitorship teams.
Ali maintains an active pro bono practice, including representing criminal defendants at both the trial and appellate court levels. He was a recipient of the 2020 Albert E. Jenner Pro Bono Award for his work leading a trial team for Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin. Ali also received the New York City Mayor’s Award for Outstanding Contribution of Public Service for his pro bono legal work assisting flood victims.
Before joining Jenner & Block, Ali worked as an attorney at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP. He also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Daniel T. K. Hurley of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
