Alexis N. Gabay is a staff attorney in the firm’s Litigation Department.

Prior to joining Jenner & Block, Ms. Gabay worked on numerous electronic document review projects.  She is experienced in various areas of litigation,  including products liability,  commercial bankruptcy, fraud, tax and intellectual property.

A former Alaskan, Ms. Gabay served as staff attorney to the president of the Alaska State Senate and was an assistant attorney general in the Commercial Litigation Department.  She  represented various state departments in bankruptcy cases as well as all legislative and regulatory matters for the state’s Department of Insurance, culminating with a comprehensive revision of the state’s Insurance Code.  Upon moving to Chicago, Ms. Gabay served as law clerk to the Honorable Robert E. Ginsberg of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois and later served the City of Chicago as a senior supervising attorney in bankruptcy and collections matters.

Ms. Gabay received a B.S. degree in liberal arts from Arizona State University and a J.D. degree from Southern Methodist University, where she represented defendants in three criminal trials prior to graduation.  Ms. Gabay is licensed to practice law in Illinois and is a retired member of the Alaska Bar Association.
