Mr. Salander’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, real estate litigation, and bankruptcy litigation, particularly in litigating complex contract and business tort disputes. He has represented REITs, private equity funds, hospital systems, nursing home companies, banks, and public companies in a broad range of high stakes disputes, including disputes involving real estate, health care, commercial mortgage-backed securities, energy, and complex financial transactions.
Mr. Salander also maintains an active pro bono practice, representing clients in criminal and civil matters at the trial and appellate levels. He also assisted the Illinois Supreme Court’s Access to Justice Commission.
Before joining Jenner & Block, Mr. Salander worked as an investment banking analyst at JPMorgan, where he assisted corporations issuing convertible securities and performed extensive financial analysis. He later worked in various capacities in commercial real estate. He has experience valuing commercial real estate, executing transactions, negotiating leases, and managing multi-family property.
