Abe Salander is a litigator with significant experience in real estate litigation and disputes arising out of corporate transactions and complex financial relationships. He litigates in state and federal courts and before arbitration associations across the country.
Mr. Salander has a wide range of real estate litigation experience. He has represented clients in connection with disputes involving commercial leases, acquisitions, rights of first refusal, partnerships, development projects, financing, judicial foreclosures, UCC foreclosures, evictions, specific performance, property management and allegations of failure to maintain, as well as in the context of bankruptcy.
He also has represented private equity groups, investors, executives and hedge funds in high-value litigation arising out of corporate mergers and acquisitions, complex financial transactions and investments in commercial mortgage-backed securities.
Mr. Salander maintains an active pro bono practice, representing clients in criminal and civil matters at the trial and appellate levels, as well as assisting the Illinois Supreme Court’s Access to Justice Commission.
Before joining Jenner & Block, Mr. Salander worked in commercial real estate as a broker, principal and property manager. He has experience valuing commercial real estate, negotiating and executing transactions and managing property. Prior to that, he worked as an investment banking analyst at JPMorgan, where he assisted corporations issuing convertible securities and performed extensive financial analysis.
