In this article, Partners Gail H. Morse and Alexandra E. Dowling discuss how federal and state tax provisions could affect whether alternative energy sources become a viable and cost effective alternative to fossil fuels.  Among other things, the article states that state governments have adopted a range of income and other tax incentives due to the absence of a permanent federal tax policy toward renewable energy.
