"Facility Energy Audits Aren't Just Trendy; They're Becoming Best Practice," Corporate Counsel

Partner Gabrielle Sigel and Associate William L. Kaplowitz recently authored an article which appeared in Corporate Counsel magazine about the increasing use of energy audits in industrial, commercial, and residential buildings to evaluate energy and other resource use and identify cost savings.  The authors discuss that energy audits are now required by certain government entities and are a  best practice for building owners and operators.  The authors state that, due to compliance obligations and potential disclosure liabilities, counsel should carefully evaluate how their clients are using energy audits in their business operations, government disclosures, due diligence, and real estate transactions.
