In this article, Partner Gail H. Morse and Associate Alexandra E. Dowling discuss the federal and state tax incentives for fuel efficient and alternative fuel vehicles and the prospective efficacy of such incentives.  Among other things, the article states that eliminating tax provisions that subsidize fossil fuel producers or increasing the efficiency standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency may be effective ways to increase the use of alternative fuels and alternative motor vehicles.
