5 Ways to Track Changes in Gov’t Contracts, Law360

In this article for Law360, Jenner & Block Partner Matthew L. Haws and Special Counsel Carla J. Weiss share five strategies for how contractors can build a “healthy change control culture” and address unexpected changes to government contracts. The authors explain that because contract changes aren’t always expressly identified, it is critical that contractors “create a culture of awareness” so that they are able to identify issues and request equitable adjustments early on: “When a change is promptly identified, the contractor can effectively and efficiently document the facts, segregate costs related to the changed work, and track schedule impact. This will allow the contractor to develop its request for equitable adjustment expeditiously.”
