Summary of Covenants Not to Compete: A Global Perspective is a multi-author compendium detailing the substantive law of restrictive covenants in jurisdictions located in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Born of the collaboration of firms in the TechLaw Group, a global network of technology savvy lawyers and firms, the summaries cover 22 countries and 20 states in the United States. Each chapter discusses the foundational statutes and court rulings on restrictive covenants in a given jurisdiction, as well as frequent issues that arise, such as a court’s power to revise covenants, what qualifies as consideration for a covenant, and possible defenses to alleged breaches. Jenner & Block Partner Shaun Van Horn served as editor for the publication. Partners Louis Fogel, Kelly Hagedorn, Chris Lindsay, David Singer and former associate Aaron Hersh authored chapters in the treatise. Associates Amit Patel and Garrett Fitzsimmons also contributed to the publication.
