Partner Gabrielle Sigel and former Associate Sarah M. Cane wrote a chapter entitled, “Lender Liability Under Environmental Laws for Real Estate in Corporate Transactions” for the 2007 Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education handbook, Environmental Law in Illinois Corporate and Real Estate Transactions. This chapter focuses on lender liability protections before financing begins, during the life of the loan, and during workout of problem loans. Ms. Sigel is Co-Chair of the Firm's Climate and Clean Technology Law Practice and a member of the Firm’s Environmental, Energy and Natural Resources Law Practice.
In addition, Partner Bill S. Forcade contributed a chapter to the handbook entitled,“Illinois Environmental Forums,” and Partner James A. Vroman wrote a chapter entitled “Structuring the Deal and Environmental Issues in the Real Estate Contract.”
