In the January Insurance Law Update, Partner Caroline L. Meneau and Associate Patrick E. Cordova explain that business email compromise scams are among the most costly forms of cybercrime.  “Cybercriminals’ success makes coverage for cyber-related loss critical for any business,” they suggest.  They then highlight the 11th Circuit’s recent decision in Principle Solutions Group LLC v. Ironshore Indemnity Inc.  The case “is part of a line of circuit court decisions holding that policyholders are entitled to coverage for fraudulently induced money transfers under traditional fidelity and crime policies.”  The Update was published in Law360.
