In this article, Partner Lindsay C. Harrison recalls her first argument before the US Supreme Court, made when she was still an associate. It was unusual, she explains, “in that it was also my first argument in any court of any kind.” She had been at the firm for about one year and had not yet had a chance to argue an appeal or a motion. That changed when she took on a pro bono case from an asylum seeker from Cameroon. She details her argument before the Court and her ultimate victory on his behalf.
