“Keeping Your Trade Secrets Secret,” Employee Relations Law Journal

In this article, Partners Rick Richmond and Kelly M. Morrison and Associate Kathleen J. Covarrubias describe what trade secrets are and highlight what steps companies can take to protect them.  The authors caution that “not all risks to company secrets are as flashy or imposing as cyberespionage.  Company secrets are just as likely to walk quietly out the door on the smartphone in a departing employee’s pocket.”  Judicial relief, they note, is available only when a company can show that the stolen secrets are protected “trade secrets.”
