“Crisis Management,” Business and Commercial Litigation in Federal Courts, Fourth Edition; Thomson Reuters & The American Bar Association Section of Litigation

In this chapter, Jenner & Block Litigation Department Chair Partner Craig C. Martin and Partner Michele L. Slachetka provide an overview of crisis management from a legal perspective. The chapter notes that while each crisis may differ, “there are several common categories of crises that a client may encounter, from environmental disasters to financial crises and data security breaches.” The authors provide several real-world examples, as well as recommended approaches and best practices for lawyers at every stage of a crisis. The chapter is part of a larger work that the New York Law Journal called “a remarkable treatise” that is “truly a litigator’s practice guide that covers every aspect of a commercial case in federal court.”
