“The FCC Dives Deep in to the Deep End on Data Privacy,” IBA 2016 Communication Committee Newsletter

In this article, Jenner & Block Partners Nancy C. Libin and Leah J. Tulin explain that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) adopted the “Open Internet Order” that establishes new Internet rules and paved the way for new rules regulating the privacy practices of Internet service providers (ISPs).  The authors provide background about the order, explain the FCC’s proposed data privacy rules and analyze the implications and problems associated with applying these types of rules to  ISPs.
