In this article, Jenner & Block Partner Robert L Byman explores best practices regarding when or whether to allow a witness to change deposition transcripts.  Mr. Byman explains that under Federal Rules of Civil Procedure 30(e), a witness can take a deposition transcript home and submit errata.  While in most jurisdictions, “you have the right to change anything,” Mr. Byman cautions that “a right is decidedly different than an obligation.”
