In this “case brief,” Jenner & Block Partners Matthew L. Jacobs and Brian S. Scarbrough and Associate Jan A. Larson explain that the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland recently overruled an insurer’s objection to a magistrate’s ruling that an insurer may not use attorney-client privilege and work product protections to shield from discovery documents created in the course of the insurer’s business.  In addition to contributing to the article, Matt is a member of the ICLB Board of Editors.
