Environmental Law in Illinois Corporate and Real Estate Transactions 2014 Edition, IICLE

Jenner & Block attorneys have contributed to the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education’s Environmental Law in Illinois Corporate and Real Estate Transactions 2014 Edition.  IICLE describes the publication as offering guidance on how to conduct an “all appropriate inquiries” investigation in a real estate transaction, the environmental due diligence process, practice in various environmental forums in Illinois, programs and redevelopment incentives to return brownfields to productive use and how federal bankruptcy law intersects with environmental issues in real estate transactions.  Partner E. Lynn Grayson wrote Chapter 3 – “Environmental Considerations in Corporate and Real Estate Transactions.”  Partner Gabrielle Sigel and Associate Alexander J. Bandza co-authored Chapter 4 – “Lender Liability Under Environmental Laws for Real Estate and Corporate Transactions.”  Partner Steven M. Siros and Staff Attorney Seth J. Schriftman co-authored Chapter 5 — “Illinois Environmental Forums.”  Partner Keri L. Holleb Hotaling co-authored Chapter 10 — “Treatment of Environmental Obligations in Bankruptcy” with former partner Christine L. Childers, now associate general counsel and compliance officer at First American Bank.
