Jenner & Block Partner Gabriel A. Fuentes wrote a three-part series for Inside Counsel that examines how overseas companies should respond when an employee encounters legal trouble while doing business in the United States.  Titled “What an Overseas Company Should Do When its Employee Is Arrested for a Minor Criminal Offense in the U.S,” the first installment, published in February, addresses the company’s need to understand the nature of the employee’s criminal problem.  The second installment, to be published in March, will provide insights into how the company may help the employee resolve the problem in U.S. courts, while the third installment, in April, will discuss approaches to minimizing the possible negative effects of the issue on the employee’s ability to travel to the United States in the future.
