Kent examine significant changes to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 45 that went into effect on December 1, 2013.  The authors explain that the five changes are aimed at simplifying federal practice for issuing and responding to subpoenas.  They review each of the changes, observing that the goal is to “to reduce confusion and eliminate hyper-technical disputes that can turn subpoena practice into a game of ‘gotcha.’”
