On September 25, 2012, the White House issued an Executive Order, entitled “Strengthening Protections Against Trafficking In Persons In Federal Contracts” (“Order” or “EO”).  This detailed Order marks the Administration’s efforts to step up enforcement of the Government’s zero tolerance policy against human trafficking.  Additional compliance measures, particularly for overseas contractors and their subcontractors, will be required and should be planned now, with new Federal Acquisition Regulations implementing the EO anticipated in March 2013.
