The April Issue of Chicago Lawyer Magazine analyzed in compelling fashion how the collapse of Enron has fueled the ongoing ethical debate over the propriety of multidisciplinary practices. While many proponents of MDPs see the Enron fiasco as a temporary setback to their cause, the magazine notes, the most out-spoken critics are said to be calling the giant's demise an overdue wake up call. "The people who were driving the MDP were not evil," Jerold S. Solovy, chairman of Jenner & Block is quoted as saying. "Their judgment was just clouded by the chase for the almighty dollar. I hope to live long, but I hope not to live long enough to see [MDPs] as inevitable."
