A team of Jenner & Block trial lawyers recently won a resounding victory on behalf of General Dynamics by securing summary judgment in a case brought under the False Claims Act in which the relator alleged that the defense contractor had made misrepresentations to obtain a contract to build a third Seawolf class nuclear attack submarine, the Jimmy Carter.  In an October 15 ruling, the Charleston, South Carolina federal court judge dismissed the lawsuit on the grounds that the alleged misrepresentations were not material and, in any event, there was no evidence of any misrepresentations.

The Jenner & Block defense team was led by Partners Richard T. Franch, Lawrence S. Schaner and Debbie L. Berman and included Associates David C. Belt, John T. Ruskusky, Adam Miller, Adam N. Hirsch and Gayle A. Rana.
