Christian E. Kimball has joined Jenner & Block as a Partner and Co-Chair of the Firm’s Tax Practice. Mr. Kimball previously served as general counsel and in a senior executive capacity at a national marketing agency, after both practicing and teaching tax law for many years.
Together with Co-Chair Arnold S. Harrison and others in the Firm’s Tax Practice, Mr. Kimball will work closely with the Firm’s Corporate, Real Estate and other practices to further develop Jenner & Block’s world-class transactional practice. Mr. Kimball brings strong experience in structuring and negotiating complex mergers, joint ventures and other transactions. Not only has he held the top legal post in a leading marketing firm, but Mr. Kimball has been a prominent tax attorney who has earned the confidence and gratitude of a number of sophisticated multinational and domestic companies.
Most recently, Mr. Kimball served as Corporate Secretary, Chief Legal Officer and Executive Vice President of BCom3 and played a key role in that company’s $3 billion merger late last year with Publicis Groupe S.A. In similar roles at Leo Burnett Company, he helped that predecessor firm merge in 2000 with The MacManus Group to form BCom3.
Mr. Kimball was an Associate Professor at Boston University School of Law from 1993 to 1998, teaching a variety of tax law courses. Prior to that, Mr. Kimball was a tax partner in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis, with a practice focused on domestic and international corporate transactions.
Mr. Kimball is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School.
